RD Ram???

Does anybody know what RD Ram is, what it costs, where i can buy it????

RD ram is rambus ram and outdated now. Dell used to use it, infact I have a old dell that uses rambus. It is expensive and outdated. If you read up on it, they say it was a good idea at the time lol but don't invest anymore money in a machine that uses it.
Rambus is expensive. A 512mb rambus kit can run upwards of $300.

RD Ram is REALLY expensive due to its rarity. Everyone gobbled it up to upgrade thier computers right after they quit making it. If you can get your hands on some, it's like having a valuable antique.

Why was RDRAM so expensive? Rambus asserts a royalty charge of 1% for SDRAM, 3% for DDR, and 2-5% for RDRAM. This means Rambus will get that percentage of total sales from each memory manufacturer. This primarily stems from manufacturing costs. Initially, Samsung and other manufacturers had to retool and gear up to produce Rimms(Rambus inline memory modules). This was costly. Rambus prices now are alot cheaper now then when it was first intoduced.
