Potentially the longest thread in history...

Only 5.1, limited to 24/96Khz in/out, combined mic/line inputs. The only thing it has going for it is the headphone amp. Still not good enough for any kind of real audio production.

No it's not, but I didn't say it was either. It sounds a lot better than onboard, all i'm saying.

Also quite a few more expensive dacs can only do 24/96. 99% of music is 16/44, so there isn't even much point.

I'll reevaluate then, it's not like I'm going to be running my recording stuff through the sound card directly I guess, since right now I have a USB interface...I'll see if I can find a mobo that's cheaper with more SATA 6.0/USB 3.0 ports.

I know that one of my friends who does / used to do audio recording on his PC used an M-Audio card that seemed to work well for him.

Re: Today I have...

A few days ago I was accepted for an AmEx Gold, so today I paid off my bills for the next two months and this month and bought an image processor for a DLP TV I have so I can fix it during spring break.

This spring break I also plan on going to the beach and a casino

Re: Today I have...

Reminds me, I need to sign up for a credit card so I can afford stuff during the first month of my placement.

Re: Today I have...

If you're a student, try to go for the Capital One Journey card (and if you haven't had a credit card before, since these cards are for those building credit)

I haven't had a problem with it yet.

Re: Today I have...

I'll probably end up doing that. It seems to be the only card I'd get accepted for anyway :p

Today I played some Feed the Beast and did a bit more of one of my last courseworks.

M-Audio is a great brand indeed, the USB interface I'm using is AVID which is the same company.

On second thought I think I'm just going to hang on building a new machine. I barely use my main computer right now as it is since I don't seem to have any time anymore so there's not much of a point. I'll look into it later. Bleh.
