Not so clear on wine...

So, after downloading it and then reading the instructions I think I have gotten to the point of understanding that wine can let you use Windows programs in Linux...which I already knew.

I need some help.

How exactly do I go about getting...say iTunes on my Linux (Slackware 10.2) system. I don't have dual boot anymore although I do still have access to a Windows machine.

All I understand so far is that I simply put iTunes on my Linux box and then...some how tell wine to let me run it.

It's a little more complicated than that. You have to have audio support, all the libraries, etc. to get it to work. I tried it once, then gave up.

Anyone that knows what they are doing with wine?

itunes was really difficult to get working. i just ended up using rythmbox, the finest itunes copy in the world.

edit: if you're planning on using itunes for your ipod, haha good luck. i had usb working at some point and audio too, i think theres a how to for it somewhere, but it was for debian.

Well I am going to install gtkpod and I also have a script for amaroK (which I haven't used)...
