Newly built system - burning smell after a couple days

My 1st X58 mobo was the EVGA X58 SLI, the VReg does tend to run hot but so long as it stays below 80C it's fine.

If you run it with the Side Panel attached, I wouldn't screw it down yet so you can still quickly gain access if the smell returns.

I would wait a few days before trying any serious stress testing. Maybe you can find the problem without taking the risk of permanently damaging it.
