New SMP2 negates using VMware

If it won't run for me w/o VM, I might as well try to run it in VM.

[EDIT] In the meantime, I killed my current WU and deleted the work file and started over. I got another a3 so I'll see how it goes...

Yeah I saw that a while ago. If you do get that one I think it's preconfigured to run the big advanced units, so you would have to configure it for normal SMP.

Yha Trotter, I've got nothing for why youre going so crappy like.

A vm might be your option till someone can figure it out, or you get the intel rig up.

well, i found an old psu that will run my 9600gt for now on my folding rig...i tried setting up the smp, but for some reason it wont work. I have the same settings as my other one, yet doesn't work. It says 4 cores detected, then unable to connect to (name of my computer) sock error gemeric socket filure, and a bunch of other crap.... so whats up?

post your log... and try reinstalling, lol. works most of the time for me when i get errors

^i did it exactly the same way i did the first one, so no need for the guide, also, i tried reinstalling three times
didn't work. I'll post my log in a sec...

EDIT: i checked and there is no log file...one is not being created...

Did you run as/in admin? What OS?

Yes i ran as admin, and its windows 7 64bit

Well i can say 2 things.

1. I dont know what is going on, but i keep getting a3 units. This is my 4th in a row.
2. setting my GPU priority higher, has not gained me any more PPD than i was getting with it on normal. Got a 353 PT unit now and it is just over 4K PPD that i am getting.
