need video codecs

hey all,
just reinstalled windows. downloaded Xvid, AC3, and divX. I have a couple AVI videos that I can't get to play. The last time I reinstalled windows I had the same problem, but I managed to stumble across a video/audio codec pack, and I never had a problem again.

What I'm needing help with is direction or a web site to get these videos to play, and any future videos.

Kinda like an all in one codec download.

or you could just use VLC player.

Make sure you don't install every single one of those.
Have only one codec pack installed or your going to have issues.

I have at least 3 installed. I have never had any issues.
