Hey stupid question but if I want to play a game on LAN do I just network the computers together so I can file share or do I need to do more? I set my computer and my friends up so that we could share files and that works but when we go into Red Alert 3 we can't see each other. I tried disabling all security but nothing... But it does work if I run through Hamachi (program that sets up lan through the internet). This is through a gigafast wired router if that matters.

On a side note has anybody played Red Alert 3 online or through LAN? When we did play through Hamachi the mouse on both computers would randomly stop working in the game. Has anybody had that problem?

Generally speaking if you can share files you can LAN. Of course networking is finicky and the problem could be any of a hundred things. I would start by googling lan issues with red alert 3, and see where that takes you.

Maybe someone here can help a bit more, since I probably told you what you already know.
