perhaps Linksys does not have the ability to adjust the preamble. I am not speaking of the MTU size. I believe MTU is only for the Packet payload, what I am talking about is packet over head. The size of the preamble that is sent with each packet can be adjusted on some routers. I use the long preamble because you will get the least amount of errors with it. If however your connection is slower you would try it at the short preamble length because a smaller packet overhead is more efficient.
