is there a dummies guide for importing dvds to itunes?

seems like there's a lot of settings to choose from on these converter programs. i don't know where to start. apple doesn't have a program for this?
i thought since i could import cds, dvds would be just as simple.

DVD's are harder on any OS...It is pretty much technically illegal to rip DVD's at all, because doing so usually involves cracking the CSS encryption that DVD's use. I use DVD:RIP for Linux because it can break CSS encryption and then transcode the video content into xvid or divx files. I'm sure Mac has a similar program, but DVD:Rip is the best I've found for either Windows or Linux.
