+/- 300$ upgrade help

Hi guys, i have a bit of a problem. I received my order today. I got the corsair 550 vx psu, 2x2 gskill ram, hd 4850, and an E5400. everything works fine except the cpu. i tested everything with my old cpu, and its flawless, but as soon as i pop in the new cpu, it wont recognize it.

This link says that E5200 works, so the E5400 should work too right, because it basically is the same thing. am i correct? Foxconn Support - CPU Support List
although, there is an * on the E5200. any idea what that means.

i just dont know what to do guys.
should i flash bios, and if that, how?

I would update your bios. The asterisk means it work with a sample cpu.

the 5200 and 5400 are both 45nm wolfdales with a 800fsb so it "should" work
