Quake 2

I recently purchased a copy of Quake 2, a game I had played years ago and loved it so much I had to give it another shot. When I start it up however I get no intall wizard just get the direct X setup saying that it detects everything but "direct 3D" says "not installed". When I say reinstall it does a little too quickly if you ask me(faster than I can see), and comes back saying that everything was installed successfully. Then it loops back to the same screen and Direct 3D is still not installed. Please Help.

Whats your computer specs? Belive it or not sometimes your computer can be "too good" for a game.

Yeah older games make direct hardware refrences (w/e)

Windows XP does not like this...

start -> program -> accessories -> program compatibility wizard and then select windows 98 or w/e you want

you could give that a try
