Got 7 wires in my case to connect to the motherboard from the front audio panel.
There are 8 pins free, ignoring a NC pin on the board.

The manual shows me pins for:

MIC2
AGND
MICPWR
+5VA
LINEOUT_R
LINEOUT_L
NC
BLINE_OUT_R
BLINE_OUT_L

The wires I have say:

R_RET
L_RET
MIC IN
MIC POWER
GROUND
R OUT
L OUT

The Mic Power ones are obvious but Im not so sure on the others.

i would try the folowing combos:

MIC2 - MIC IN
AGND - GROUND
MICPWR - MIC POWER
LINEOUT_R - R OUT
LINEOUT_L - L OUT
BLINE_OUT_R - R_RET
BLINE_OUT_L - L_RET

i'm assuming, if there's a MIC2 pin, there should be a MIC one. check your MB manual again or look around. sorry i can't help any more than that. provide us with the MB model, maybe we can take a look and help more

Motherboard is an ASUS P4S800D
Think the manual is online, there isnt a 'MIC' pin. Should the +5VA pin be left free.

+5VA - Mic Power
MICPWR OR MIC2 - Mic in

i think that might work try both pins for the mic in... but im not saying itll work it mite.. worth a try.. n no nothing gets damaged if u screw up the pinning.. it just doesnt work :) lol
