i just completed my new mobo instal, boy this took longer than i expected.
first thing i had to do was dismantle everything.
that was the easy part.
then, i had to make a modification to my case.
my old rear exhaust was smaller than 40mm, so i think i was using a 32mm fan. (not exact on size)
so, i went to garage, and (i dont own any tools) ...so i found a saw and a pair of wire cutters. thats all i had to work with lol.
basicly i cut from my i/o shild almost all the way across the back plate, i needed to make a 120mm fan fit there.
boy is my case uglier than ever....ill upload some pics later.
so after that crap was done, then it came time for the installation.
got the motherboard screwed down, mounted the sunbeam core contact, connected a few sata ports, then went for the psu....
**** core contact was too big! i had to start all over, but since i couldnt get the darn cooler back off, i just unscrewed the entire mobo the way it was, so i could lift it and slide the psu in.
then i thought, why not go for some cable managment.
so i spent a lil time tucking away all the unused wires.
finaly get it all finished with the install.
boot it up, check my temps in bios, seems fine, check my cpu voltage, hey this board lets me run over 1.168! (hooray!)
and i go to install windows....hmm it boots from disk, asks me if i want to install windows, i click yes... next thing i know, instead of re-installing windows, my old version just loads up.
so far this old windows is running fine.
but ill keep my backup copy just in case for a week or so.
but i have to comment on one of my new fans.
not sure if its the silverstone or the sunbeam fan that came with the cooler.
i have the silverstone mounted to the cooler, and using the sunbeam fan as my rear exhaust.
one of those puppies is whining like a little %#@#.
its annoying me.
anyways, too keep a short story long... i should now be able to tweek my 7750 atleast until my 940 arrives (ordering that in less than 24hours, or just may pick it up at frys if they sell it less than $320)
wish me luck.
