I have a Logitech G5 and G3
the G3 has:
2000 DPI laser, which is very fast and accurate
a forward button, unlike the G5
smaller than the G5, and doesn't have the trademark logitech mouse shape
1000Hz polling rate (you can set it to 1000Hz in the Setpoint software)
a pretty low cost compared to any high performance mouse
What the G5 has that the G3 doesn't:
trademark logitech mouse shape
the ability to switch between 3 DPI levels
NO forward button
a higher cost
Anyway, my mousepad is called a Nova Microptic Winner:
It's highly flexible, so I can fold it up and take it anywhere
it will kinda mould to the surface you put it on, and sticks to it (so it doesn't move around)
It's got tiny, umm, mirror filings, which Nova claims are very good for optical/laser mice up to 8000 DPI. It seems to work very well, and I can use my G3 and G5 very accurately with it.
