A mate of mine in the country gets (i think) around 768k downstream for $25 a month with no download cap. He only gets that price coz the transmitter is on his property
kinda late response i have, yes, it uses a radio tower. I would rather have fixed wireless than sat or dial up. the antenna isn't big at all, smaller than a sat tv dish. If your only a few miles away and have line of sight, your best option.
