want gps on my cell phone without download

I just got a new samsung a837 rugby on att that is gps enabled. i would like to use the gps without downloading over the phone. i don't have a data plan, and it would cost a fortune, to download google maps, or any other simular software. i have read that you can buy a micro sd card, with maps installed on it. but have not found any yet. can
anybody comfirm this? and if you can where can i get one? thanks steve

You can't use the GPS without a data plan. The data plan on the Rugby is 15 bucks for unlimited, 10 bucks if you have unlimited texting already. Also, you need telenav.

there's gotta be something i've got an X1Xperia and I'd really like to use gps when i have no service like for back roads and what not.... i can do it on my psp why not my cell?

Well for one thing, the one on the phones doesn't have predownloaded maps, meaning you have to download the maps first. AFAIK, the one on the PSP has already preinstalled maps.
