I have had an old NorthQ black magic PSU for a while now, and i though it was time to get a new and more efficient PSU instead.
I bought a Corsair HX750, but i had some fan issues with it so i got my money in return.
then i bought a Corsair AX760. AX is Corsair's highest end PSU lineup.
The NorthQ BM850 is a 80+ standard validated PSU. (1 step lower then bronze)
The HX750 is a 80+ Gold validated PSU.
The AX760 is a 80+ Platinum Validated PSU
Results with my computer (+ monitor) running on idle after startup:
NorthQ BM850 = 222 Watt
Corsair HX750 = 194 Watt
Corsair AX760 = 179 Watt
it shows that it's important to at least consider a higher validation than just the standard or bronze when shopping for a PSU.
I'm happy with mine ^^
