Im trying to install LibreOffice via a .Deb but keep getting this error:

subprocess dpkg-split returned error exit status 2...

Cant figure out what is going wrong? someone please tell me how to fix this..

Is your download of the DEB file corrupted? Is there an MD5 or SHA hash you can compare against?

Yes MD5 was fine, and not corrupt..

Stupid me, I never use dpkg really..

I was trying to run dpkg on the DEB dir rather than on the DEBs.

All fixed!

Why would you install LibreOffice with packages?
If you want the latest version I assure you it isnt that much different then the old except for a few minor improvements.
Considering you are talking about .deb files I guess you are using Ubuntu or debian yes?
