My PCMark 2002 HDD Score is bad, help?

I have a 1.8 Ghz P4, 256 MB RAM, 80 GB HDD (7200 RPM). I keep getting very bad (to me at least) HDD scores (378 pts.). I am wondering if this is a harddrive problem for sure or if it's something else, maybe the MOBO? Can some help me. If you need more specifics just ask. BTW the computer is a HP Pavilion 751n. Thanks

can you lay out the specifics pleaes?

hard drive manufacturer and model?
mobo manufacturer and model?
what ide channel is your hard drive on?

your ram may be part of the problem. 256 isn't a whole lot anymore and your system may be keeping a large page file in order to compensate.

Specs

HDD Manufacturer and Model: SAMSUNG SV8004H
MoBo Manufacturer and Model: ASUSTeK Computer INC., P4S-LA

I'm not sure what channel the HDD is on, I'm guessing it's the default one, I haven't changed it since I got the system.

The pagefile is about 176 MB according to the task manager. I didn't think that was too large. How could I check what channel my HDD is on? Thanks again.

remove the case. check and see if it is on the master or slave channel of ide1 or ide2. or check it in the bios if you don't feel comfortable removing the case.

a pagefile of 170ish sounds about right if you're not doing anything memory intensive.
