Midi to wave and visa versa

Hello everyone, n00bie here
Dose anyone know of a good program (by good i mean free) that can change wave to midi?
i used like noteworthy player (i dont remember what it was but i think it was that) and it was horrible

There are no programs that work properly, even for single instrument files. To convert midi files to wav files the only way to do it is to play the midi files and record them at the same time using any of many recording programs. Some programs will assist you by doing this automatically, but it is still a real-time operation.
