Well my friends insignia computerhttp://www4.dealtime.com/xPF-Desktop-with-Intel-Pentium-4-Processor-2-8GHz-D300a is getting the thermal event error so I told him he needs to replace the motherboard, he doesn't know much about PC's so I told him I'd pick one out and install it for him.

NVM, I need help on finding a motherboard, he has a Pentium 4 Socket 478, I'm guessing, cpu with 512MB DDR-266 PC2100 memory, ATA100 HD and I think thats all.

if that option is available in the bios.

And if you need a new mobo I can highly recommend this
http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=12&l3=158&model=425&modelmenu=1
I've used that for about 1 or 1½ years and haven't had any problems. It also has pretty good features, especially the pci-e is a great addition if you ever want to upgrade the vid card. Only bad things are that it only has 1 ide connector and 2 ram slots.
You can't buy that from that site though, I've looked everywhere for one. I'll tell him about disabling temp monitoring.
