and you don't need to take out your drive, if you want to access your files. Boot of a Linux Live USB stick or CD, you can then access your had disc. Copy files over the network or onto a USB stick, then do a fresh install.

But I'd use a utility to reset password first.

Ok everyone, how will a password utility help him here? After driver updates he can no longer move the mouse. A re-install of windows is overkill to start with and a password reset utility won't resolve the issue of the cursor not responding.

Again, the OP can go into safe mode and do a restore point (the generic drivers there should work) or the last known good configuration. For first step debugging you are all going way too complex and ignoring the root cause of the problem.
