Linksys router security problem

Hey i have a linksys router and i want to set up a password so ppl dont steal my internet. My problem is if i leave the wireless router default with no password setup i can connect fine, but when i set up a password i cant even see the network on the wifi list.

Are you connecting wirelessly to the router yourself? If so then you will have to enter the password for the router's encryption in your wireless utility else you are left on the outside just like those trying to steal your wi-fi.

If you connect via wire only then just turn the wireless off. But if you or someone with your permission needs the wireless be sure to give them the key code.
