Help with torrents

I've been told this is the right place to come for help. I just started downloading torrents, but I'm getting pathetic speeds- no more than 20 kb/s max for all combined downloads. I'm using embarq DSL.

I tried using Vuze (Azerus) and BitTorrent, but my speeds are always lousy.

Help a complete noob?

You need to look up the information on how to port forward.

PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall

Look up your router make and model and it will tell you how to forward your ports correctly so that you can get better speeds and connect better to the clients.
