Free software for IRC chats?

Hello. I am not sure if this is right place to ask about this.

But does anyone know some good, free software for IRC?

I know I used one few years ago, but I forgot the name.

No, mIRC is free...it just has a nag screen.

mIRC: Download mIRC

I dont see anywhere on the download screen where it says to pay for purchase. I can download it freely. no where on their site at all, under teh Home, About or any other pages does it say a things about having to pay to use it.

If you wish to Register then it costs money. But it is $20.

How do I register mIRC?

A single-user license costs US$20.00.

It is not $30. Also you dont HAVE to pay to use it. You just click Okay at the nag screen.
