Digital Camera Help

My digital camera was working fine until tonight. I connected it to my laptop via the USB cable, and no problems. Well, I turn off the camera, disconnect it, and take some more pictures, and want them on my laptop again. I go to plug in the USB port, and you know the sound that XP usually makes when a USB device is inserted? Well, all it does is two 'dun dun' sounds, and it won't read the camera anymore. I tried with two different USB cables, and to no avail. I went into the camera settings and set the USB to printer to see if that would work, but it only reads it for about 20 seconds, and then my camera says "SET USB". Any ideas?

Different USB ports? New batteries?

Tried all three USB ports, and put in new batteries =]

Have you tried restarting then trying?
