I have an old Virgin Mobile (Model Mifi 2200) (fully functional) , but since it has no service anymore, I'd like to put CFW, like DD-WRT, OpenWRT, Tomato, etc , on it...

I tried using TFTP to flash it with DD-WRT's "micro generic" build, but I got no luck flashing it... I would love to put CFW on this, for one reason, it is a pocket sized router, I just need to flash it to enable all of the features it is capable of.

For one, the hotspot can function as a LAN, which can be useful, second, it might function as a repeater, I haven't been able to flash CFW (Custom FirmWare) on it, so I cannot be sure if it has the capability of a repeater... It would be pretty cool to be able to though, am I right?

DD-WRT's "micro generic" build has support for hotspots, the feature for it is called "Sputnik" (named after NASA's satellite, I assume), so it can still function as a hotspot, even after flashed. I have yet to be able to hack it. Any ideas on how I could flash/hack this old hotspot???

PS. I indented paragraphs for better reading experience... :D

Are you sure you're even able to flash DD-WRT on the MiFi device?

Edit: Novatel MiFi 2200 isn't on the support devices list that Joe posted.
