I'm on the verge of ordering my upgrades at the moment...except I have a query over my GPU choice (Why wouldn't I with the variety that exists!)
I've just found a number of sites suggesting that one doesn't need 1GB of video memory on the HD 4890 at my resolution (VGA Monitor @ 1680 x 1050, I couldn't afford a DVI one at the time )
So, can anyone advise me:
HD 4870 512mb
Newegg.com - POWERCOLOR AX4870 512MD5 Radeon HD 4870 512MB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
HD 4870 1024mb
Newegg.com - MSI R4870-T2D1G Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
HD 4890 1024mb
Newegg.com - HIS H489F1GP Radeon HD 4890 1GB 256-bit PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
I'm looking at the HD 4890 at the moment since its $35 more than the HD 4870 1gb, which isn't much (I can overclock it too) but if the HD 4870 512mb will suffice I'll jump for that (i.e. Doesn't drop too many frame)
Thanks for any help!
