What would be a good setup then. Kaspersky3(Retail) and sbybot?

IMO
Router (Linksys)
Zonealarm (or no software Firewall at all)
Symantec Antivirus
Spybot
SpywareBlaster
Ad Aware SE Personnel
Firefox Or Opera.

What I use anyways, Only 1-3 Pcs of spyware a Month. No Viruses/Torjans.

I tend to agree my current setup is as follows:

router/builtin hardware firewall (netgear)
Windows soft firewall :)mad: )
Kaspersky 6 Pro (very good all round AV)
Spybot (useful, probably best anti spyware)
Spywareblaster (blocks bad sites)
Ad aware SE Personal (picks up the odd thing)
Firefox with noscript extension (very secure browsing)
Ewido (excellent malware detection)
& various other bits an pieces..

Best AV - kapersky imo

Here's my setup:

Belkin router
ZA internet security suite [the best]
spyware doctor
spybot search and destroy
spyware blaster

Far as I have noticed symantec doesn't slow my computer down.
And the full Scans only take 17 Minutes. Alot Lower then any other AV I have tried Before.

ok

OK, here's my setup:

Linksys router
ZoneAlarm free firewall
AVG antivirus
Ad-Aware
Spybot
Spyware Blaster
Ewido Antispyware
Windows Defender
CWShredder
Firefox
Run free Online Scan occassionally (Kaspersky, BitDefender)
Run Blacklight rootkit
CCleaner
CleanUp
TweakNow registercleaner

Whew.....

avg is all i need, i can turn it off easy when i don't want it eating resources when i game.

"If you rely on AVG for your antivirus you'll want to supplement it with Ewido (not a bad idea in any case) and occasional online scans."

depends on your online habits, i'm pretty safe online but I did successfully clean my roommates pc with avg once. regardless I use a squared free with it for trojans.

My pick..

I use securepoint for my Firewall and AntiVir Guard for my AV. I do regular "Shields Up" scans on my pc ports. It's a free online scan from GRC.com if I remember, anyway it will give you a status report on your pc ports. If you want to go even further there are rootkit scanners, I got a free one from F-secure, but I think that offer ends in a few days.
