AMD processor

"X2's not great for overclocking."Yeah you are right there, they are excellent for overclocking. My brother has the 3800 overclocked to +4400. And apparently according to numerous overclocking forums a genuine +4400 is one of the most overclockable CPU's ever. I know for a fact it can be overclocked to +5200 without any problems.

Nah, the opteron 275. More hyper transport links for a connection between the cpu cores abd everything else plugged into the mobo. Each of the two processor cores featre 1mb of l2 cache and it's own on-die memory controller. The newest opterons even feature support for intel's newest sse3 instructions.

The CPU cores in the Opteron 275 don't use hyper transport to communicate to each other directly. They actually use a Crossbar switch.

It's true that the Opterons have extra hyper transport incoherent links.
