Wireless without Internet?

Hi,

I work at Staples, as the Mobile PC Technician, and I had this one guy come in and ask me this question.

He wanted to have a wireless network between his PC/laptop/printer. Could he do that without any cable service? He came in looking for a router. He had dialup

Those actually exist, a Dailup router then add wireless

And there's no reason that you need any net access to make a wireless network.

I was able to setup friends network with the same method.

Is there a particular setup the customer had?

You can purchase any home broadband router (netgear), and if you do not want to use it to pass internet through, just disable "Use as DHCP Server"
