Yes it's dangerous, and it will hurt fertility.

I personally dont have to worry about it myself, but if you plan on having children I recomend keeping the laptop off your lap.

I'm not sure of the exact reason, but it has something to do with changing the temperature of your testicles, and then they don't have the ability to produce as much sperm.

i think that is part of the reason. something about the temperature not being optimal for the production of healthy sperm. correct me if im wrong, but i think the 'testicles' were designed to hang, so that their temperature stays lower than the rest of the body.
