I have a couple of computers in my house and a very lerge movie collection consisting of high quality videos (blu-ray rips), dvd rips, and some divx movies. My question is I have a netgear g3700 (n600) gaming router. The computer and router are on the top floor a my lowest computer is two floors down hooked up to another router with the port fwd to that so that htpc is hard wired to that particular router. The computer that has the movies I am trying to stream has an amd fx 6100 proc, 12 gigs of ram. I am wondering if it is safe to say I can stream the dvd rips but the bluray rips it's better to have them on hdd's withing those individual computers like I do now. I have all the blurays on each computer in the house on individual 2 tb hdd hooked up to that particular setup and am thinking of streaming the dvd rips from that one drive located upstairs in the attic.
