to be safe id do it this way.
1) uninstall your current drivers (you should have an uninstall feature in your normal Program list - or do it through your Device Manager)
2) turn off your CPU
3) take out your SB card
4) turn on CPU
5) install new drivers
6) turn off CPU
7) reinstall card
this is the foolproof way to update peripheral drivers, though generally you dont need to take these steps as Windows has gotten pretty good at cleaning up and replacing files. i'd try this first before anything else though. always better to get rid of old drivers completely before putting new ones in.
