Hi all,

I've got an old router i'd like to use to increase the range of my new routers radio signal. I have been following a pcadvisor article on how to set this up:
Use a spare router as a Wi-Fi extender - PC Advisor

However somewhere along the line something has gone wrong. My old router no longer seems to have an IP address when i look at the network settings on my mac under TCP/IP there is no Router address at all only IPv4 and subnet mask. I've also tried using an IP scanner to pick up addresses and it doesn't find it.

On the tutorial above i got as far as disabling DHCP and renaming the old router to be the same as my new router. Does anyone know why i've no router address anymore?

Also the pcadvisor method requires a powerlink mains device to allow the two routers to communicate, surely there is a way to do this which just requires the two routers alone? With all communication done wirelessly.

Thanks for the help,

Matt
