Save As error

Whatever application or browser im currently in and try to Save As or Open from the Dialog where the location becomes Desktop the Program crashes.

Like if I Browse to the Desktop, the Program crashes but if I browse to anywhere else everything works. It only crashes when I try to get something off the desktop

Is there a huge amount of data on the desktop? Sometimes explorer can crash when there's a lot of data in an area its trying to access.

I tried moving everything out of my desktop but still no help, could it because im running a dual monitor?

Definately not. I've been running dual monitors since 2005. Never had that problem.

Couple generic things to try:

Open command prompt as Administrator for both of these (if you're on Vista/7).
XP: Start > Run > type "cmd" (without quotes) > enter
Vista/7: Start > type "cmd" (without quotes) > right click 'Command Prompt' search result > run as administrator

Do a chkdsk:
type in: chkdsk c: /f /r
press enter
This will take a while to complete, so do it when you don't need to use it for a few hours.

If that doesn't work, try this from command prompt:
type in: sfc /scannow
press enter
May take a while as well, so again, be patient and do it when you don't need to use it immediately.
