Spammers are learning new ways everyday to get their spam everywhere. The latest trick they have discovered here is that they don't have to be registered to spam. Even when a person registers and they are waiting on their confirmation codes, they can send PMs. And in those PMs are spam. Even if they never get the codes to become registered, like when they use fictional emails to register, they can still spam via the PM system.
In order to prevent this, we will be adding a 40 post minimum count necessary to send out PMs. The new user will still be able to RECEIVE PMs and to reply to those, they just won't be able to initiate a PM until they have their 40 posts. This is consistent with the B/S/T and OT forums. This should also alleviate some of the PM spam that many of you (and me) have been getting.
Also, please note that there are many of you with full inboxes. If you want to receive PMs, please delete your old PMs and keep your inbox and sentbox up to date. Important, clean out your unnecessary PMs.
