Pls help me!!

I am having such a bad experience with my computer lately. I know there are a lot of viruses on this computer because my fiancee really likes to go to unsecure sites, if you know what I mean. I have bought norton-which is a waste of money, and I have doctor spyware which is really good but only for spyware. Every time I am on the internet the pages never load and if i refresh the page it will not load at all unless i close the browser and start again. I really need this computer for school research and I am hoping I will not have to reistall windows xp again because the guy i bought it from only gave me a copy of the program and he never even gave me a CD for it. I had windows xp reinstalled before 2x and he charged me every time (that was before I knew anything about computers)..I know I was really dumb about it. But now I am just looking to have this computer fixed for the time being so i can use it again. Any help would be really appreciated, thanks for your time.

I recommend downloading

Avast Antivirus. Its free, and detects alot more viruses than Norton.

Out of curiousity, why did you post this in the Hijackthis section?

Thanks talldude123 I just downloaded avast antivirus into my system. I am also sending a hijack saved log onto here if you could help me. The computer keeps freezing up, won't load up pages properly, and on my xosftspy i got a message saying the yahoo.com site which used to be my homepage has been hijacked. I recommend updating Windows, and downloading Service Pack 2 for Windows XP.

For the past 2 months my computer keeps freezing up and now it's just getting worse. I used to have bearshare installed but I have deleted it and maybe I haven't gotten rid of all its contents. I know my windows need to be updated but my computer was never this bad before. What else should I do? Thanks in advance for your help.

Is there any way to download Service Pack 2 for Windows XP? See, I have bought my computer a number of years ago and I thought I was getting Windows Xp installed on for which the guy made me pay for quite a lot of money but I found out I am a victim of piracy. I have left my computer like this for about a few years now and I never reported him because its been a long time ago. What would you suggest I do about updating my computer?

do not forget to install Antivirus and Antispyware. If you're on a slower connection, you can try online antivirus/antispyware scanners. They're pretty friendly on dial-up.
