if its DDR and not DDR2 (sorry i donno where DDR2 starts out.) yes your motherboard will support it, but it will downclock and only run at PC3200 speeds (ddr400). the advantage of higher clocked ram is that if you're going to overclock your system, your memory is GUARANTEED to go to at least PC4000 speeds (some memory can't go that high, forcing ppl to run mem dividers). i don't know much, but as far as i know the only advantage is when overclocking.
