you can quite easily overdose on cannabis through ingestion, you know

Not as far as I know. If you were just eating cannabis itself it would not be readily metabolised. I'd be more concerned with the fact the brownies were a year old.

Indeed. There's a reason people burn it instead of just taking a bite, reason being no THC effect.
