My dad works from home, and currently has a ds3r and q6600. He wants a backup computer that he can just put his hard drive from his main computer in to his backup and immediatly continue to work if his quad fails (he's been through a few ****** p4 boards and wants reliability).
If he gets a ds3l as a backup, could he take the harddrive out of the main(ds3r) and put it in a (ds3l) computer, could he boot the os to it since its almost the same board? or would he need the exact same board.
Also, if the ds3l backup had a dual instead of a quadcore, would that also mess up booting windows on the ds3l after the os was installed on a quad?
thanks in advance
