Is the other comp still working?

do an ipconfig for me

the other pc is working still.

ipconfig gives me:

Autoconfiguration IP Address. . . : 169.254.150.51
subnet Mask .................................. 255.255.0.0
Default Gateway ............................

No it is not.

ip address............ 192.168.0.166
subnet mask.........255.255.255.0
default gateway....192.168.0.1
is the working one.

ok try this

open network places, go to network connections, right click your internet connection, go to properties.In the general tab youll see tcp/ip, double click it and youll see a config screen set it to static ip and put these entries in.

IP 192.168.0.167
subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.0.1

dns 192.168.0.1
leave the 2nd dns blank

click apply then ok then try to get online

Did not work. Would not let me access the router by typing its address either.

have u tried a different ethernet cable?

also did u try plugging the computers directly into the modem?

I tried both of those.
PC one works directly into the modem but the other still nothing.

Now that I made the changes with TCP/IP you suggested I get a different result from ipconfig /renew

"The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation."

Is that a driver issue with the ethernet card maybe?

well now its failing cause its static.

but u said the card worked in the other comp didnt u?
