Need to move steam to partition

Okay i've ran out of space on my old Partition. how do i transfer steam and all my games over to the new partition and keep them all intact and running smooth?

uummmm, you don't.

Sorry man, but you are going to have to kill it and then reinstall it all on the new partition. You should be able to back up installs and saved games through steam though.

okayim game for that how do i do that? is there any folder i need to keep so i dont have to go through so many reinstalls?

Just redownload it. It's account-based so you just have to redownload your games.

okay im getting my games. now what about my mods?

Umm. You can just copy the entire Steam folder to the new location. Steam will automatically update anything necessary and the games will run fine. I even did this from an XP install to a Vista install. Steam did all the dirty work for me

Yea, I was pretty impressed myself. I used to despise Steam, but I have to say...nowdays it is the best gaming distribution platform available!
