If it passes...then you'll need to make your flash drive back into a Win8 installer and try to install WIn8 from your flash drive.

No they're not hard to install.

It's 2 cables - the power cable and data cable. Just gotta swap it out.

Doesn't have to be 1TB - can be whatever size you want. You currently have a 500GB drive; you could get an SSD instead of an HDD if you wanted; you'll just spend more so it depends on how much you want to spend.

What's the difference between HDD and SDD? I'm a student and a gamer so irk what would be better

Basics:
HDD = uses physical platters that spin and a magnetic reader reads/writes data to the platters.
SSD = uses flash storage (like what flash drives use basically) which makes them extremely fast, but currently are fairly expensive (prices are continuing to drop however).
