To answer your question if you're just doing video editing then the motherboard you end up choosing is up to you. There aren't specific features that make a motherboard better or worse for video editing. Certainly if you spend $50 on a board the quality component will be lacking, and you might run into issues, but if you stay with a Z68 or P67 board around the $150 mark, you're not gonna go wrong. The ASUS P8P67 line, MSI GD55/GD65 line, Gigabyte UD3/UD4 are all good choices, and it really comes down to you and what you want to go with.
