mic sound looping

I have a fatality headset (pink and green connections) and if I talk while someone else does, it echos REALLY bad what they are saying, and keeps looping it. any setting I am forgetting to change? thanks for the help guys.

Mute the microphone in the PLAYBACK section.

Go to your volume control panel and change to the playback section. Mute the mic.

Options > Properties > Select Playback
On the mic channel, check Mute.

Options > Properties > Select Recording
Make sure the mic channel is NOT muted.
