Like a Challenge??? I'm out of ideas, HELP PLEASE!

Yes sp2 and that's when it all started....I use my on-board sound to monitor my recording studio mastering after transfering form HD recorder (fostex) to my DAW. I noticed some crackling and pops and thought, "oh carp, not another windows install!" But after mixdown, finalizing and droping my projects to cd...clear as a bell!! It is only noisy relative to my on-baord sound card playback monitoring! weird!!!
