Me and a friend are trying to setup a LAN, we are both running windows xp with him having windows xp pro.
he seems to be working fine but my lan connection has "network cable unplugged" in its description. What are the common ways around this?
weve checked that everything is plugged in properly.

something tells me that, when asking for assistance, belittling someone else isn't the wisest idea.

on your next post, can you please share what kind of equipment you have? are the two computers connected together? to a switch? i feel that having the layout handy is a little better than guessing. but hey, what do i know?

Hahah. Yeah, nearly everyone here has had a bad cable. It stumps you for a little untill it dawns on you that thats what it could be. The good thing about if it is, you can replace it for cheap.
