What is the normal operating temperature for Seagate disc drives? With our newer model drives the maximum temperature is now at 60 degrees Celsius. Feb 13, 2010 #3 Think the average of 45*C is good, normally drives are between 35~50*C but may go high as to 55~65*C if it's being used heavily. Should be checked though, make sure inside is clean and air could pass through smoothly.
