Internet connection problem

The PC Light on the modem indicates whether the computer is connected to the modem or not, that alone doesn't mean it's getting internet connection. If the PC Light is off, it means the computer is NOT connected to the modem.

A few things to try here:
1)Check to see if the WAN/Ethernet/Internet light is on on the modem. If not, call her ISP and find out if they're having technical issues on their end. If so, just have to wait it out. If no, try the followings.
2)Disable then re-enable Local Area Network
3)Disable then re-enable Ethernet Adapter
4)Remove then re-install Ethernet Driver
5)Try another USB port on the laptop
6)If these don't solve it, I'd suggest her call up her ISP's techsupport and ask a tech guy to come out with another modem to try.
